Lisa Meyers McClintick - Biography

An ideal family vacation spot in Ft. Myers, Florida.
Where to find my work:

Midwest Living, a wonderful magazine that passionately and thoroughly checks out everything it prints.

Twin Cities Star Tribune Sunday Travel section. I am grateful Minnesotans still have a viable and admirable Travel section that takes readers across the world each week.

AAA Living, the classic magazine for road-trippers and travelers.

Family Vacation Critic, an online website through TripAdvisor. Face it. Traveling with kids is a completely different adventure.

Ingalls Homestead, DeSmet, S.D.
The Dakotas Off the Beaten Path, published by Globe-Pequot Press in July 2010. Eighth edition.

Rand McNally. I helped refresh and update its online database of national parks and write the Minneapolis and U of M Fab maps.

Log Home Living, Timber Frame Living and Country's Best Cabins.

iTunes and Sutro Media with Minnesota Lake Vacations launched in January 2011. Minnesota's North Shore app to come later this year.

And, of course, www.10000Likes.com.

Experience
Twenty-plus years as a journalist, but who's counting? I graduated with mass communications and German degrees from St. Cloud State University and went on to write for Monticello, Waseca and the St. Cloud newspapers. I launched my freelance business in 1999 to coincide with parenthood.

Since then, I have zeroed in on topics I'm most passionate about, including parenting, gardening, food and travel features. Travel, of course, always topped the list and been my sole focus since 2007.

Black Hills rock climbing
In my sixth year of remission from chronic disease, I am always ready for new challenges and adventures. Best of all is sharing the joy of great places along the way.
